Frozen Chocolate Strawberry Bites Recipe - Eat, Drink, and Save Money (2024)

If you’ve never eaten a fresh strawberry at the peak of season, you’ve never truly lived.Fresh strawberries are amazing on their own, but we all know that chocolate makes everything better. That’s why I’m sharing my frozen chocolate strawberry bites recipe with you today.

How to enjoy strawberries all year long

I have a secret to enjoying my fresh strawberries all year long:

I buy a ton of them when they are on sale. Then I freeze them!

My current favorite place to get local strawberries is Farmer Mike’s Upick. I love taking the kids strawberry picking, but I also enjoy buying the ones that are already picked for me. I’m also a member of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) with Farmer Mike’s. Each week during the growing season I get a share of what they grow!

This recipe for frozen chocolate covered strawberries allows you to enjoy a chocolate covered strawberry anytime. I don’t know about you, but when I make or buy a big batch of chocolate covered strawberries, I end up eating them all in a day.

Frozen chocolate strawberry bites are perfect for enjoying a little sweet treat in moderation.

Or all in one sitting. I won’t judge you if that’s your style.

How to make frozen chocolate covered strawberry bites

Chocolate covered strawberry bites are so easy to make. You make them just like you make chocolate covered strawberries, but with a twist.

Step 1:

Cut strawberries into bite size pieces first.

Step 2:

Melt chocolate and coconut oil in microwave.

Step 3:

Use a toothpick to dip strawberries in chocolate.

Step 4:

Place the strawberries on a parchment lined cookie sheet and freeze for at least an hour

Can you freeze chocolate covered strawberries?

Don’t make traditional chocolate covered strawberries and then freeze them.

Why?

Well, there are 2 reasons:

1. They are too big and you won’t be able to bite right into them without hurting your teeth
2. The chocolate doesn’t cover the whole strawberry so the inside will get mushy from freezer burn

That’s why it is so fun to make these frozen chocolate strawberry bites if you want to enjoy frozen chocolate covered strawberries.

Florida strawberries are at their peak right now

I buy strawberries all year. My boys aren’t picky about them and will eat them out of season. But me?

Nope. I’m spoiled by the fresh Florida produce and I only eat them in season.
