What is the max level in Heroes of Hammerwatch? ›

The level cap is 20. You no longer gain exp once at level 20. The level cap increases by 5 for every time the character beats the game and goes into New Game plus (aka NG+). You can check your character's level cap by hovering over the EXP tracker in your character menu.

Ranger is a good starter class as well because you are able to keep your distance from the enemies and provide other classes with extra Attack Power.

The DLC uses its own NG+. I would put the act 1 of it around act 3 or 4 of the main game. A character that just cleared the game in the tower should be able to handle all of DLC campaign.

Post— Level Cap

After breaking the Level Cap at Lv. 250, however, the five (5) heroes will join the other blessed heroes in being blessed. Meaning that level upgrading then becomes a single action administered in the Holy Sanctuary, which raises the level of all blessed heroes in tandem, simultaneously.

The total maximum hero level is 130. To level up your heroes, you need to use them to complete Campaign missions or use EXP potions. You can buy EXP potions in Town Shop or receive them by raiding missions.
