On my computer, each time I try to log into my new wireless account (at ATT.COM) it takes me to my Direct account and then auto logs me out. Something is linking the two accounts and then causing this problem. How do I separate them?

Hello, @Scotty1060! We want to help you log in to your wireless AT&T account.

How exactly are you trying to sign in to your AT&T account? We ask, as we have a few troubleshooting steps to help you get into the right account:

  • If you're trying to sign in to your account using a browser, tryclearing your cache and cookies. This just may be a website glitch, which can be quickly fixed just by clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or even using a different browser.
  • If you haven't done so already, trysigning in through the MyAT&T app. This will help us narrow down the source of the issue, such as if this is the website or your login information.

If your DIRECTV and wireless accounts aren't under the same User ID, then we also recommend you doublecheck which User ID you're using when you try signing in as well.

Please let us know if this helps, so we can look into this further if needed.

Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

Hey there @kellysplus, we want to help you sign in to your wireless account without being redirected.

Based on the information you've given us, it sounds like your wireless account and DirecTV account are linked underneath the same user ID. You can remove a linked accountby following the steps down below:

  1. Go to your myAT&T profile and sign in, either with the myAT&T app or website.
  2. Scroll to My Linked Accounts.
  3. Choose Remove this account for the account you want to unlink.
    • If you try to remove a canceled account that has a balance due, you'll be asked to make a payment.
  4. Select one of the following
    • A secondary user to replace you as the primary user.
    • No one.
  5. Choose a new primary contact account if asked.
  6. Follow the prompts to remove the account from your user ID.

Additionally, we highly recommend you try signing into another browser as this may be an issue with the browser instead.

Please let us know if this helps you sign in without being redirected, if not, we can continue looking into this together.

I have the same issue and have contacted both DirecTV Stream help and AT&T help multiple times, (and Apple help once after one of the DirecTV agents said it was most likely an Apple/Mac issue). The last AT&T person I spoke with said it was a known issue and was being looked into. That was two months ago and it's still an issue.

If the att website sends you to directv then how are you supposed to go to your att account to unlink them? Its not possible! One directv agent acted like i dont know what im talking about and said hes 100% sure theyre not linked. He walked me through changing password on one account. Then changed user id on the other one and guess what happened? Both accounts changed to the same info. If theyre not linked how were they both changed from opposite apps? Then the agent still says it isnt. They send me back to att and att sends me to them. They say it shows just the user id on directv. That they cant be for both accounts... thats what they do when they're linked.

From what ive learned so far with going back and forth between departments and reading about it, the att id is one ID. The bills and accounts are separated. Somehow the directv acct has become the primary one to load. And since directv has no way to update or change the link or view both bills it gets stuck in an infinite loop. Agents say theyre unable to gain access to your account to fix it. Why have the option to link them without a warning for a common issue? Or without giving agents the ability to do it from the customers

AT&T has been around for YEARS and is multi billion corporation that should be able to fix this issue.
